Marcelo Sant'Anna, PhD
CEO
Marcelo Sant’Anna has over 15 years of experience in directing and using quant methods to advise Global-500 companies in Banking, Energy, Telco, Retail and Aerospace in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Sant’Anna is a former Managing Director of Investment Banking at Dominick & Dickerman, a.k.a. Dominick & Dominick, founded in 1870, a historic name on Wall Street and one of the early firms to join the NYSE.
Marcelo holds a PhD in Software Engineering from the Catholic University of Rio and certificate in Executive Economics from MIT/Sloan School of Management; Marcelo has also held FINRA Series 24 (General Securities Princial), Series 79 (Investment Banking) and NASAA 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) licenses.
Renato Tavares
Head of Business
Renato oversees administration, business development and legal compliance. He is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and English. Mr. Tavares received his Master’s Degree in Business Law, Mergers & Acquisitions at FGV - Getulio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo, Brazil and completed post-graduate studies in International Law at Fordham University, New York. He got a specialization in Negotiations, essential strategies and skills from Michigan University. He is dual-national of Brazil and Europe.

At his business career he was the general counsel for an American Company and advisor of many multinational companies.
As a lawyer he worked for the Braziian Court as a treinee.
He is Advus Board Member representing the company through Latin America and Europe connecting with funds and prosperous companies.
Alan Hawkins
Legal Counsel
Alan serves as in-house General Counsel and is a practicing attorney representing venture capital funds in operational, corporate and tax law matters, He earned a JD from the University of Florida, School of Law, where he also studied Latin American Business and Language. He received his BA in Language from Fort Lewis College.
He is specialized in securities law. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Sung Ho Joo, PhD
Head of Asia
Dr. Joo was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. He moved to Brazil when he was a teenager and received his M.D. degree from University of São Paulo, School of Medicine. He subsequently received a Fellowship degree from University Hospitals of Cleveland in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery. He was also a Visiting Professor at Kurume University in Japan in 1990. Nowadays he is the Supervisor at Otolaryngology Department at Hospital das Clinicas and Albert Einstein Hospital, São Paulo, Brazil.

At his business career he was the President for Brazil of The Central Committee of Democratic Congress on Global Koreans for 3 years and President for Latin America of the National Unification Advisory Council for more than 10 years.
He is Advus Board Member representing the company through Asia connecting with funds and prosperous companies. He is fluent in Portuguese, Korean and English.
Tim Psomiadis
Chief Financial Officer
Tim spent over 25 years in banking and investment banking, serving as CFO of County Trust Company and as a Partner with New York Life. During that time, he assisted international clients in structuring transactions, with a particular focus on the consumer products. Tim attended New York University and holds general securities Series 7, Series 63 and Series 66 licenses. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Greek.
Marcelo Guimarães
Mkt Manager
Mr. Guimarães got his degree in Business Administration Entrepreneurship at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He is specialized in Sales opportunity and mkt research. He was Vice President of the Board of Small and Medium companies at the Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro, KAUFFMAN Foundation: Facilitate Entrepreneurship Course/ Workshop “Fast Track” by Endeavor Brazil, MIT/ HARVARD - Summer Course - Leadership and Negotiation (January 2013), Representative of Students at the Board Member University.
